The Snow Queen, certainly, is not the Russian tale, however it has become the essential part of the Soviet New Year entertaining program. Restrictions & the religion prohibition in the USSR caused a peculiar cultural phenomenon: the main creative power was moved towards New Year celebrations, which considered to be the most important for any Soviet person. Even a proverb: “The New Year will follow the way you celebrate it” shows its profound sense. When I re-watch old programs, movies I’m surprised to discover plenty of Christian messages well-wrapped & hidden behind the Soviet censorship.
