“Carnival Night” is a very old (1956), very Sovietic New Year movie that might be regarded as a precious piece of heritage of that time. It is lack of any folkloric or romantic background in its traditional sense, but it is a good example of a perfect movie for the Soviet people. It shows true Soviet characters, who are always definite: either good or bad; the Soviet ideology & the pure Soviet humour. And no matter that music performances try to copy the Hollywood ones, it has its own charm & the New Year spirit.
